³¼DEMO REVIEWS¼³
²
Well, before we start with all these
reviews we want to say something about
them. We have decided to review some
smaller things this time, some of them
are a bit older. The reason for this
is, that everyone reads about the big
demos being released (e.g. Guardian
Dragon II, S.o.S etc). But there are
also some nice intros (mentros? den-
tros??) nobody talks about. So here
they are:
³ECTASY BY SONIC
---------------¹
Coding: Deflector
GFX : Murk
Music : Omar
We have already seen a couple of intros
from Sonic, which were all very nice,
but this one is far their best (Under
standable why they called it THE in
tro). I think it's been a bit inspired
by Humantarget, coz it's also a 'tech-
no' demo. The nice techno track by Omar
blasts your ears all the time and every
thing is very fast. When they show an
effect it lasts only for some seconds
and then you can already see something
else. So let's get over to the rou-
tines. First there's a really cool text
writer which builds up the letters with
dots. Well, this has been quite often,
but this one is in med-res and it just
looks great! Then the first 'real' rou-
tine comes up. It's a lightsourced
glenz vector! A completely new idea,
and it looks amazing. The second effect
are two vector cubes, which are masked
in a way, that makes them look slimy
and melting into each other.
²
CODING: Just new stunning ideas!
>>> 8 of 10 <<<
GFX : A nice logo and good font.
>>> 7 of 10 <<<
MUSIC : A good techno track.
>>> 6 of 10 <<<
DESIGN: No boredom - just action!

³INSPIRATION HAS COME BY KEFRENS
-------------------------------¹
Coding: Vention
GFX : Airwalk
Music : Laxity
This dentro was the first production
from Kefrens after some silence. It
just looks like a normal demo: One ef-
fect after another and some text
screens. There's nearly no GFX inclu-
ded. So what can we see in the demo?
First we have a very complex and fast
vector object, followed by a vector
cube, which features 3 different light
sources flying around it. Each of them
has got a different colour, so the co-
lour of the vector surfaces also chan-
ges. Understood that? Well, we have
seen this before in a party invitation
by Razor 1911, but it's still nice. So
after this they show us some dot rou-
tines like 3D stars transforming into a
square of stars or some cool flags. The
best routine is in the end part: Three
transparent dot spheres are jumping a-
round. Ain't that original?! Anyway we
like it, coz it looks cool! The music
is also well done. I thought Laxity
would just do coding, but he seems to
be a good musician, too!
²
CODING: Good, but too common.
>>> 8 of 10 <<<
GFX : Too few graphics...
>>> 3 of 10 <<<
MUSIC : Normal
>>> 6 of 10 <<<
DESIGN: Design is OK.

³INSPIRATION IS GONE BY KEFRENS
-------------------------------¹
Coding: Vention
GFX : R.W.O
Music : Powerlaxen (Laxity?!)
Let's call it an intro. It consists of
several text screens with a vertical
logo. Between each of them we can see
one of two chessplane effects. The
first one is a 3D-one spinning around,
so you feel like a pilot! Sometimes
you'd like to say 'WROOMMM!' when you
see it, coz it's pretty fast! Nice one!
The second one is seen from above. It's
just 2D and it also runs and spins.
This one is just average. Well, after
that you can enjoy the end scroll with
some funny text. Now for the music:
It's a chip tune, but we both really
LOVE it!! It just sounds great! Some
times we run the intro just to hear the
music for half an hour. Too bad it's
unrippable!
²
CODING: Nice, those chessplanes.
>>> 6 of 10 <<<
GFX : An average logo and 2 fonts.
>>> 4 of 10 <<<
MUSIC : The best chip tune ever!
>>> 9 of 10 <<<
DESIGN: Another blue intro. Average.
>>> 5 of 10 <<<
³GLASS CUBE FRENZY BY ANARCHY
----------------------------¹
Coding: Dan
GFX : Mystik
Music : Nuke
This is probably the smallest produc-
tion from Anarchy, ever. The intro con-
sists of a lightsourced glass cube and
a simple logo by Mystik. The observer
is able to see the logo through the
vector - an effect never seen before.
Below this effect a scrolltext takes
part in the show.
²
CODING: A nice'n'new effect!
>>> 5 of 10 <<<
GFX : Nothing special.
>>> 3 of 10 <<<
MUSIC : An average tune.
>>> 5 of 10 <<<
DESIGN: There's none!
>>> 1 of 10 <<<
³MAGGY #12 INTRO BY COMPLEX
--------------------------¹
Coding: Epidemic
GFX : Tomcat, Blade, Cockatrice
Music : DeLorean
The intro begins with a nice logo and a
great title picture by Tomcat. The rest
of the show is rather simple, coz
there's just one part left! On the left
side, a text writer talks some crap and
next to it, on the right, we see some
kind of 'shade dots'. Imagine the shade
bobs from Hardwired and all its clones.
This routine features dots instead of
circles. Well, that's it.
²
CODING: A nice'n'new effect!
>>> 5 of 10 <<<
GFX : Cool graphics.
>>> 7 of 10 <<<
MUSIC : Simple and a bit nerving.
>>> 3 of 10 <<<
DESIGN: Yes.
>>> 6 of 10 <<<
³DEJA VU BY ANARCHY
------------------¹
Coding: Paradroid
GFX : Paradroid, Krest
Music : Nuke
This one is the first demo by Para-
droid, which is done for Anarchy. Well,
he writes, that it's not a great demo
and that it's just been put together to
win the demo compo at the Quartz Par-
ty... and he's right. The demo is below
the Anarchy standard. Here's what it
features: giant glenz vectors, shade
fractals, various old vector effects,
parallax scrolling etc. The greatest
effect is one with shaded spheres. Just
imagine the Pencil Vectors from THE
PUNISHER with spheres and you got it!
Hmm, the graphics are a bit simple,
just the Anarchy logo by Krest looks
cool. But who wonders? Paradroid is a
coder and not an artist. The music, in
my opinion, is one of the best modules
around. I really like that one! All in
all an average demo, we know, that
Paradroid can do it better, if he's got
the time.
²
CODING: Average, 1 great effect.
>>> 6 of 10 <<<
GFX : 1 good logo, rest simple.
>>> 4 of 10 <<<
MUSIC : Superb tune!
>>> 9 of 10 <<<
DESIGN: Normal.

³NEW INTRO BY SILENTS FR.
------------------------¹
Coding: DCA
GFX : Hof
Music : Audiomonster
This is the first demo from the new
french Silents team, after all the old
members left to Anarchy. Well, it's
just a tiny intro with several text
screens and one effect. Above all that,
there's a nice wooden logo. But now
let's explain the effect: It's a vector
cube with real plasma on it. It looks
really cool, also the colours are well
chosen. They show the normal version of
the cube and after that, the same one
lightsourced. The music is again a
quite original module as we know it
from Audiomonster, but this time I
don't like it too much!
²
CODING: A new'n'nice effect.
>>> 5 of 10 <<<
GFX : Nice logo, normal font
>>> 7 of 10 <<<
MUSIC : Not my taste!
>>> 4 of 10 <<<
DESIGN: Normal intro style.
